It's wine tasting time! Every first Wednesday of each month we gather at City Wine and sample a few wines, nosh on a little food, gab with old friends, make new friends, and just have a responsibly fun time. Join us, won't you? You don't have to know a lot about wine. In fact, you don't have to know anything about wine. We sample a selection of 3 whites and 3 reds, and provide you with printed tasting notes. There's no pressure to buy anything. Just come and enjoy.
Tasting time is 6:00-7:30 pm (we usually go a little later than that). It's floating, so you don't have to arrive exactly at 6:00; however, arrive early enough to sample the wines without rushing. Known for his "red-hot and rocking, cutting edge, electric blues in the tradition of the masters," EZ is a two-time Apollo performer and specializes in blues and oldies (but goodies, of course). He is an entertainer in the truest sense of the word, playing hits from Albert Collins, BB King, Freddie King, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and Jimi Hendrix. Next Weeks Blues will be the band of the evening on Friday night. You may have enjoyed them at the August 24th Music on the Green at Mariners' Wharf. They play a mixture of Blues, Old School Soul, Reggae, and Rock. Their influences range from Etta James to Robert Johnson to the Three Kings (Freddie, Albert, and B.B.). August 11, 2011 -- Randy Redneck (Comedy)

Jim Bridges will be performing as Randy Redneck this Thursday evening, August 11th, at 5:30 pm at City Wine in a segment where he will make fun of professors, historians, physicists, and astronomers in a way that only Jim Bridges can. Jim is famous in the area not only as an educator, but also for his famous comedy skits and impersonations. The show is expected to last about 25 minutes, and dinner will be served until 6:00 pm.
