December 2, 2009 -- Annual Sparkling Wine Tasting

It’s that bubbly time of year again when the stars align for the annual Sparkling Wine Tasting at The City Wine Sellar. This year’s bubbles will be popping on Wednesday evening, December 2nd, from 6:00-7:30 pm with a selection of six sparkling vinos, one of which is always a REAL champagne.

It’s a Special, Spectacular, and Sizzly event that gets better and better each year! This year, we will add Stylish, Sumptuous, and Snazzy! Upon the suggestion of a customer and employee, we’re making this year’s Sparkling Tasting a “Dressy*” evening. Ladies, wear your chic Little Black Dress and pearls, or your drop dead gorgeous Little Red Dress and ruby bangles. Gentlemen, arrive looking sharp in your tux or dinner jacket. We’ll clink glasses throughout the evening while mingling and sipping champagne, and toasting to friends and fun times.

Cost is $15.00 per person; RSVP Highly Requested.

*Dressing up is optional. Jeans and a Tee is perfectly fine as well.

November 27, 2009 -- Audio Slide Show

Formerly known as Trigger Finger, this local band has a song list comprised of classic rock tunes with newer Top 40 tunes. The group is made up of some of the best of the best musicians and vocalists. Drew Sablon on guitar; Lorie Hull, vocals; Robbie Raper on bass; Barret Kidd on keyboard; and rounded out with Josh Quigley on drums and vocals. Get your groove on at City Wine from 7:00-10:00 pm.

November 20, 2009 -- Denny Blue

With a name like Denny Blue, how can it be anything other than some mighty fine blues tunes? Denny will help you mellow out with some acoustic and alternative blues on a fine Friday evening in downtown Elizabeth City.
"Denny Blue has been performing on the Outer Banks, NC & Tidewater, Virginia since the early 90's. His style includes heartfelt vocals, banging guitar & slide work with soulful harmonica licks. November 13, 2009 -- The Joe Gosman Band

Self described as "alternative pop rock with a southern rock feel," The Joe Gosman Band will come alive at The City Wine Sellar on Friday Night, November 13th. These guys are pretty famous in this region, playing at hot spots such as The Jewish Mother, Scotty Quixx, Chesapeake Jubilee, and (of course) good ole City Wine in Elizabeth City.

November 6, 2009 -- Abstract Vibe

Abstract Vibe will be vibrating this Friday night at City Wine. Formerly known as Catch 22, you may have seen these guys at Sean's or Chero's in Edenton, or even Coaster's in E-City. Brad Ober (lead vocals & guitar), Darren Fueston (lead guitar & vocals) David Perry (bass), and David Fueston (drums & vocals) will rock unplugged with popular cover tunes, reggae, rock, country, and classic rock. November 4, 2009 -- Wednesday Wine Tasting

It's our monthly first Wednesday Wine Tasting at City Wine Sellar. Held on the first Wednesday of each month from 6:00-7:30 pm, we sample a variety of six wines (3 whites and 3 reds). This month we will be tasting three wines from California's Tuck Beckstoffer Vineyards and three wines from Cosentino Vineyards, also from California.
Our extra-special Guest Pourers will be none other than Buddy and Beverly Madrin, two of my absolute favorite people!
Written tasting notes are provided, along with special pricing for bottles purchased at the tasting. Cost is $15 per person, and includes tastings, light appetizers, tasting notes, and a guaranteed fun night!
